    Modeling Nexis usage

We're trying to assess just how much use our Nexis is seeing, in order to plan storage groups, facility growth, etc.

I'm fully aware of the media pack scale-out / high performance tables. But they're just the first step.

I'd like to gather real-world use data on peak r/w per storage group, over several weeks. Is there an Avid or existing 3rd party solution that can do it?

I've been wanting to dive into the API and SNMP, but somehow there's never time! :) If SNMP can even offer this type of granular data.

Avid's 400/600 MB/s per Media Pack is actually accurate. Performance will vary depending on file count, file size, storage group configuration, etc. Large files will result in higher server performance than smaller files. This is true for any storage server. It said that Nexis can actually perform better but Avid quotes what they can guarantee.
