    Quicktime Reference Export Still Best?

    Hello!

Is Quicktime Reference still the best way out of Avid? Say, an intermediate for exporting 'draft' versions.

What is your current export workflow? What do you recommend?

Hope to hear from you. Thanks!

For draft/preview versions, the places I work export h264 quicktime movies smaller than HD raster size with timecode burned in.

If you're doing quicktime reference movies and encoding them in some other app, that's fine, too.

I have found the fastest workflow is to export eithe ra quicktime reference or quicktime file same as source,  and then recompress in compressor. With the multiple instances setup it usually can compress a 1 hr show to less then HD resolution in H264 format in 12-15mins on my 12core.
