    Hi everyone, I've long been interested in low-cost, 'smaller' alternatives to the likes of Unitiy, Isis, Editshare, Terrablock etc. While they are fantastic solutions they come at a price not fit for everyone's budget, and sometimes they are just not viable at all on smaller productions...

  • Changing Avid MediaFiles\MXF\#

    Gang: I'm wondering what are the valid names for the numbered directories under Avid MediaFiles\MXF\. Is it OK to change, for instance, the directory named '1' to something more meaningful like 'ProjectXFootage'. Is this generally a bad idea? What are the ramifications?

  • G-Raid or Drobo?

    Hello, I know Avid's are the most recommended storage but while the budget is tight, we're sticking with other brands. What do you think about G-Raid and Drobo? Which one do you recommend? We're currently using G-Raid 1 (500s). Thank you.

  • Moving Projects

    Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is a way to isolate all the Avid media that pertains to a specific project? I want to move a project from one hard drive to another, but I don't want to have to copy over the media files from the other projects that I don't need. Thanks! Sofi
