  • Importing AAF into Avid re-linking problems - still...

I have recently had to import non-embedded AAF sequences containing reference to ProRes and Wav files. The AAF imports OK into a bin as offline clips and sequences, but I can't understand why it is still so flakey to relink the clips to media in Avid. Sometimes I manage to trick the Avid into knowing...

  • Relink Proxies to R3D Files-Not AMA linked

Hi everyone, What is the process of relinking proxies to the original R3d files (I did not AMA link the footage into Avid, I trancoded in RedCine X to codec DNxHD 36) I am trying to send the sequence to our color corrector who will use Davinci Resolve. I have read information on hiding the original MXF...

  • Problem relinking to OMFI files after AAF roundtrip Avid-Premiere-Avid

Hi, I am having no luck relinking to OMFI files, despite seeing the path and knowing exactly where they are. I had an Avid project that was exported to Premiere via AAF. Premiere read the files from their original OMFI folder. However, when I exported the AAF from Premiere and brought it back into Avid...

  • avid to resolve relink issues

Hello all, I work in avid 6.5 where I transcoded down my AMA files to DNxHD 175 to grade in resolve lite 10. I went into resolve via .aaf and went out the same way. All the tutorials I have found are telling me to match the tape names of both the original DNxHD files and the files that are brought in...

  • Re: Frameflex mode rotate?

Currently, a workaround for me has been to have the Offline Editor use an Avid "Resize" effect with keyframes and I send that to Resolve using an AAF for extraction. This way I can rotate the Image, push in or out, and support Avid keyframes etc. I have Resolve pull the original 4K 5K camera...

  • Please help - I'm trying for days and I don't succeed - Premiere AAF in Avid

Hi. I am using Premiere cs5.5 and Avid MC5. I exported AAF from Premiere. I am loading it in Avid and I see the sequence, everything is fine. The media is offline as expected. But I cannot manage to link the offline files to the right files. I tried AMA Volume link, Import and everything. There must...

  • ANY way to relink/batch import AAF?

Hi, Old problem but new to me... Used EX Clip Browser 2,0 to export aaf:s and lost some media files in a project in MC. Is there ANY way to use timelines with the offline aaf:s or a quick way to "translate" it to reimpored aaf:s? Any way to export new aaf:s that can be recognised by MC, relinked...

  • XDCAM EX and 'Avid AAF' workflow problems

I wrote about this on my site last night, but thought I'd post here too... XDCAM EX Workflow in Avid Basically the recommended workflow with XDCAM EX material, as detailed in tutorials and forum posts here, using the Sony ClipBrowser's "Avid AAF" export method has a serious weakness...

  • Re: Using .aaf & Relinking

Depending on the method you've used to import the XDCAM EX material it may be impossible to relink to anything other than exactly the same Avid media files that he has edited with. I blogged about this very recently (last night actually) - XDCAM EX Workflow in Avid As I currently don't know a...
