I have been exporting QT movies on the Mac but none of them play on Windows computers. The QuickTime player message that appears on Windows PC's says a codec is needed. What do I need to do with my Avid Media Composer 5.5 on the Mac to prevent this? I have exported using Avid Codecs... all sorts...

  • Re: Best Export Setting?

I don't think we do. Forgive me, I'm so lost when it comes to Avid. There seem to be 5,000 ways to do anything and trying to remember how I did stuff is so hard. Somehow I exported this video http://vimeo.com/33432627 and it's clear. I thought I was exporting my videos the same way ever since...

  • Best export settings?

Sounds simple right? 1) it takes forever 2) they seem to come out grainy 3) the files it exports are enormous. I'd prefer a QT file and it was shot in 16x9 so it would be nice...

I am new to Avid and am having trouble exporting a QT from my sequence. Every time I export a QT movie using Same as Source my audio is about 5 - 7 frames ahead of the video (this is not an issue in the timeline). The video contains multiple tracks of GFX made in Title Tool (only) and after recently...

  • Getting a clean uncompressed QT from timeline

Need to send a QT of an 80 minute timeline. SD video and two channels of stereo audio. These files will be used by another company who will, in turn, compress in various versions for internet, etc.. Of course, this will make a huge file, but that is not a problem. Since they do not have Avid I need to...
