• Re: DPX to 1:1 10bit RGB - possible?

    1) In MetaFuze, when the video format is 10 bits, the version of DNxHD 185 that MetaFuze uses is the 10 bits one ('X'). 2) MC's waveform viewer scales the range from 10 bits to 8 bits. 3) Exactly. 4) Yes, the values below 16 (super blacks) and above 235 (super whites) will be clamped to the black and white points. 4') You should ask
By the way, this YCC format, is this a Kodak format for stills or are you refering to YCbCr?
No, the Kodak PhotoYCC follows the Rec. 601 luma equation. YCC used for HD [720p/1080p] follows the Rec. 709 luma equation. Rec. 601 YCC is normally used for standard television (ex: NTSC). The luma coefficients are derived

    1) The video format of the transcode will determine the bit depth that will be used in the transcoding pipeline as well as in the final mxf. Even if a transcode's codec supports 10 bits encoding, if the video format is 8 bits, the data provided to the encoder will be 8 bits. It is possible to produce transcodes with 10 bits of precision only with

  • Re: Metafuze console failure...

Hmmm.... I just tried a batch transcode on a fresh install of MF 2.2.5 on my (fully updated) XP 64 bits machine and everything went well. That leads me to think that maybe another software's installation or a Windows update may have broken MetaFuze on your system. Did you install any new software on those machines since the last successful transcode

Hi patrickvp! Did you try to reinstall MetaFuze? Uninstall MetaFuze and before reinstalling it, delete everything that is laying in MetaFuze's installation folder. It's possible that one of MetaFuze settings file got corrupt at one point and is messing with your installation.

In MetaFuze, when a video format for a transcode doesn't state "(10 bits)", it is 8 bits. When a transcode has a 8 bits video format, it is transcoded with 8 bits of Luma (Y) per pixel and 8 bits per chroma (Cr & Cb) per 2 pixels which are used to get the original RGB value. In order to get a resulting clip with a range between 0 and

  • Re: DPX to 1:1 10bit RGB - possible?

Hi matahir! In its current form, MetaFuze can only output YCC 4:2:2. It converts the source's format to YCC 4:2:2 when the source's format conversion is supported. If the source's format conversion to 4:2:2 isn't supported, the transcoding will fail.

  • Re: MetaFuze 2.2.5 Quicktime Parser error (3D)

Try turning the number of processors to the minimum in the Options. If this doesn't work, could you share your files on the ftp, so that I can take a look at them? The instructions can be found here: http://aviddssupport.avid.com/index.htm?page=upload/ftp.htm

  • Re: DPX to DNxHD wrong color

Select your transcode, in the Detail view, there's a property named LUT, click on it and a list of available LUT should appear. It is also possible to create some LUTs by right clicking on a group/transcode and selecting Edit LUTs. This is all fairly well documented in the MetaFuze user guide which can be found in <your MetaFuze installation

I don't recall that MetaFuze 2.2.5 supports .MTS files... Can you preview the images? At what moment is this message poping (scanning, previewing, transcoding)? If you are able to scan the files, before transcoding, can you see if an instance of the QTDecoder exists? If no instance of the QTDecoder is running, you may need to uninstall/reinstall
