Hi Marianna There is a case open in Europe. Best regards, Marco
  • Re: AvidDVD "Selecting movie. Please wait..." and i'm still waiting

Here is how to get rid of this error, at least I did. Avid DVD has to be closed. Go to the ffdshow "Video decoder configuration". In Windows 7 you will find it in the start menu under "All programs" - ffdshow. There, change the "Direct show control". Under "Use ffdshow only in:" (This must be checked), select

  • Re: MC 5.03 amplitude trouble

-18 dB... That's a good point. I cannot confirm it, but some of the new prosumer cameras seem to operate on a very high default level, higher than -9dB. -18 dB is the standard for the test tone (reference level) in all the EBU countries, I think. Maximum levels can be -9 dB. In the current MC versions, there is a good tool to check that: The gain

  • Re: MC 5.03 amplitude trouble

MC5.0.3 seems to center the pan which results in a high level. If you pan the audio in a master clip (L -100, R+100) before splicing it into the sequence, the levels will be right. A customer claimed this problems as he got stereo audio tracks from the sound studio that resulted mono and with too high volume after splicing them into the sequence...

Hi all Jan... I was not sure if I may post a direct link to the patches, but as you can find them in google: http://www.avid.com/US/support/downloads/patches/disclaimer They have to be taken with some care. (Read the disclaimer) About the aspect issue. I think there is a bug with "One Step" for 16:9, but I'm not sure. You can use the send

Hi Lindsay and Jan, One Step might not work in HD, depending on the length of the timeline. A customer had some troubles with that. Did you install the patch 5.0.3.1 or 5.0.3.2 on your MC? Did you try transcoding the sequence to DNxHD before sending to Avid DVD? Do you have QT7.6.6? Did you select "Safe mode (GDI only)" in the Advanced tab

Hi Lindsay Are you able to play the .mov exported from MC with the QT player? You will find the path to the file in the MC export tool. What format are your media files? Marco

Hi all! I had the same problem. Made a complete reinstall of the system. Did not help. Then I created a new Windows user profile (has to be in the Administrators group!) and the selecting movie forever problem has gone... I really don't know why. Probably I have to mention that I always create a user "avid" during Windows 7 installation

Hi all! One of our customers is facing a similar problem. He is on a Mac Nehalem 2.93GHz/Nvidia GT-120 with MC5.0. His camera is a HDR-HC1, connected over FW800/400 adapter on the Mac. The problem is: If there are any sound tracks enabled in the capture tool, the capturing seems to drop frames. But when playing back the captured clip, it appears okay
