• Re: Audio playback issue (MC 2018.12.1)

I would definitely try doubling the ram to 32GB. I doubled my ZBook recently to 64GB, and it makes a difference on long heavy timelines, although 32GB was fine. 16GB is the minimum for 2019 now, I believe.
Sion, Is this a i7 core... as this shoud work. Marianna
It's a Xeon cpu so I think that's OK.

  • 2019.8 interface

Because of my setup, I like to have source/record on the right hand monitor and bins on the left. In all workspaces I like to have the project window, with all bins and folders, aligned to the right of the left hand monitor. This is impossible with 2019. The project window does not exist as before - it is part of a bin container and therefore even floating

  • Re: DNxID Thunderbolt dock connection

Thanks Dom, I run the 2nd monitor Hdmi directly from the laptop at only 1920 x 1080 and storage is USB 3.0 raid. Do you know if the 2nd TB3 port on the laptop is shared? Presumably it is. My current BMD I/O device won't work from the dock for some strange reason too, so that is why I asked.

  • Why is BCC so expensive?

I simply don't understand why BCC complete is so expensive - it costs more than Avid itself, (even the 'freelance friendly' annual subscription is twice the price of Avid support) and more than 6 times the price of Da Vinci Resolve Studio one time purchase price. The BCC lite, which comes with the Symphony option, contains a very mean 4

  • DNxID Thunderbolt dock connection

I have a qualified HP laptop and docking station and am in the market for a DNxID. Does it make a difference whether the unit is connected to the G2 dock or the laptop itself?

  • Re: All Audio Center Panned

That setting has nothing, I've always believed, to do with panning - it merely sets a 2 mono dual tracks to a single stereo track, which can only be inserted to a stereo track on the timeline. Are you saying that importing as a stereo track respects left/right panning? I have always had to manually pan stereo music imported audio - I assumed there

  • Re: Avid 2019.6 Audio Tool 16 Channels

What is 'kind of annoying'? The fact that the Audio tool, as is normal, references hardware imput/output, not timeline tracks - the Audio Mixer does this. Or that with BMD hardware input/output HDMI, through Audio tool, shows 16 tracks not 8?

  • Re: Avid ASDT works well with win 1703 but not 1803

It's best not to use ASDT, especially with Windows 10 - even though it seems up to date, it's pretty old and more relevant to Win 7. Plus it has some optimisations not really recommendable like switching off the security centre and Defender, which is perfectly fine to use and preferable to me to bloated antivirus software. Plenty of ram and
