  • Re: AMA timeline to youtube

Thanks everyone for the help. I used your advice and experimented a little and found the best bet for time/drive-space was: - mixdown (about 1/4 real time) - Then - QT ref export. -compress in outside program for youtube Thanks again, Chris

  • Re: To AMA or not to AMA?

Hi Gregg, I like what you said here. That is what I am dealing with - an hour long lecture with a couple edits and a simple title. (I have SEVERAL to do like this - all an hour or more.) I have it ready to go in AMA = BUT, now how do I get it to youtube? If I mixdown or transcode, it takes hours and huge drive space. An export takes hours, and still

  • Re: AMA timeline to youtube

Thanks, Shane. That is what I normally do. I was hoping to find something that did not take up so much time and drive space. (again - these are HOUR long sequences with only a few edits.) Maybe there is no other alternative.

  • AMA timeline to youtube

I have a few sequences of hour-long meetings. Very little editing and just a few titles. Because of this, I figured it would save alot of time and drive space to work in AMA, which I never do. Client wants them to go up to youtube. But, since I cannot export QT Ref files with AMA, what is the best way to put these hour-long sequences to youtube?

  • Re: Green dot with matching frame rates

Another possible clue: Just noticed that the audio and video are not linked in the timeline, even with the link button on. Not sure why that is either... Maybe just something new from Avid5 to Avid8... Still getting used to it.

  • Re: Green dot with matching frame rates

It does look like the corners are slightly squared, but it is the exact same dot I get when I drop another frame rate into the sequence. (Except the other clips says 23.98 FPS in parenthesis next to it. The 59.94 has no parenthetical)

  • Green dot with matching frame rates

Using a 1080i/59.94 project and all of my new footage matches that, yet it all appears with green dot in my timelines... It is all transcoded from AMA to Avid dnx145, as this long-standing project has always been done... My only guess: This project was originally created in Avid 5 and this is the first new footage I have added to it since I upgraded

  • Re: Boris Continuum 7 with Avid 8?

Thanks for the quick replies! It does irk me that I have to buy it again, when the list of effects seems to be the same as 4 years ago when I bought it the first time. You would think they would give a discount to someone who already bought it once. I guess that is just how the game is played. I did notice that some PC users on SOME PC's got BCC7

  • Re: Drive with eSata AND Thunderbolt?

Thanks, guys. I have been told from another source that I should not try to add Thunderbolt ports to this 2011 Mac. I am adding another card that has 2 eSata ports and 2 USB3 ports on it.

  • Boris Continuum 7 with Avid 8?

I just upgraded Avid 5.5 to 8.3 (on a separate boot drive...) Will I be able to install my Boris Continuum 7 and use that with Composer 8.3? Do I just install it from the disk on this boot drive? Running Mac Mountain Lion on this boot. (Snow Leopard with 5.5 on the other boot/partition.) Thank you! -chris
