  • Re: Dekocast Clocks and showing different Time Zones in the same scene

Hi Tolu, I know we've been working with you on the phone, but I wanted to update this on-line so that anyone else trying to do this would also get the answer. The basic answer is to create multiple Deko Objects. In the Object Editor select the Clock tab and choose the format for the clock you want to use and then set the value of the offset for

  • Re: DekoCast Doesn't Play Clips...Sometimes

Ben, If a clip is not being played, then the codec is available. It sounds like you're being careful with your codecs, but since you can't get to the View->Resources window, there is something else you can do. Basically, after release 4.0, both DekoCast and DekoCastCentral are UI's that sent messages to the underlying Inflexion engine

  • Re: DekoCast Doesn't Play Clips...Sometimes

Ben, Without a support contract, it's going to be difficult for me to give you a lot of assistance. But my best guess is that you are running out of codecs. When you get the failure, if you are running DekoCastCentral, go to View->Resources and you will see a list of all open scenes and in the upper left, it will tell you how many codecs are free

  • Re: Adding a delay to a looping cell animation...

DenverArt, I'm not sure what you mean by "work-around"? That's actually the way the product works (or can work). The entire concept of DekoCast is to use a set of Video Objects (Video In, Clips, Cel Animations, ...) each of which is defined by a set of parameters, and then use the timeline to create an action or set of actions which

  • Re: clip deko

It really depends on what you mean by "older". We currently support products that have been manufactured over a 10 year span. On some of those older models, adding Clip Deko meant adding hardware and enabling Clip Deko with a dongle code. For those units without the needed hardware already installed, there is no way to add Clip Deko at this

  • Re: Dekocast SDI Audio Output

The AES output was not added until we went to the new Corsica card. Ver. 3.6.7 was only supported with Targa card - which only has the embedded audio output. In no case do we play it to the PC sound card. Dave

  • Re: Custom Typeface..What am I doing Wrong?

I'll need a little more information. I assume that you have a scene with a Deko Object and that Deko Object specifies a .dko on the "Deko" tab (in the Object Editor) and a .txt file in the "Contents" tab. Is that correct? If not, please describe what you're doing in greater detail. If that is what you're doing, can you

  • Re: Dekocast SDI Audio Output

DekoCast can play audio embedded in the SDI stream or it can play audio out of the AES connectors on the back of the machine. You specify which to use in the Options->Preferences->Video Hardware Options and at the bottom of that screen, there's a drop down where you can select either SDI (embedded) or AES (discrete). It cannot play out of

  • Re: converting .mov files to MXF DV compression

Diego, In order to determine what hardware is installed in your system, I would need the system ID. But, the Corsica video card (which is the currently shipping card) has 2 hardware codecs, each of which can play 2 video streams. Thus, you can play a miximum of 4 video streams at a time. These streams can be allocated to Video and/or Key and in any

  • Re: Animated emoticons in New DekoCast Release

You can use Deko Objex to crawl a standard Deko Object and use the embedded tags to indert a static icon. I described the basic concept earlier in this thread. The Crawl Object in DekoCast is not implemented in Objex, and the Crawl Object is currently the only way to insert an animated logo. If you have more questions on that, please let me know. Dave
