  • Dekocast documentation

Hello there, I'm chasing a copy of the Rocket Engine BCI XML Bytestream Command Interface document. Dekocast's help tells me to search on your support forum for "XML Bytestream" but that doesn't yield the result that it suggests. Having to search for documents all the time isn't very helpful by the way. Perhaps it was back

  • Re: triggering a motion through program or control air

We've got the same issue & it's very annoying. 97% of our gfx are static except for a couple of animated stocks boards so we need a CG op to sit there during the bulletin just to hit a couple of keys to animate the sequence. Doesn't seem any way around this as ControlAir is rather simplistic in how it calls up gfx on the Deko. At least

  • Re: Dekocast database extractor plug-in

Hi Mary Thanks for the detailed reply! I've just tried your suggestion of setting the update frequency to 60 & setting an action to manually trigger the update yet the plug-in seems to be ignoring this 'update frequency' figure. My action runs 20sec and I can change database values multiple times while this action runs and see it affect

  • Dekocast database extractor plug-in

I'm having an issue using the Database Extractor plug-in that came with our Dekocast systems (v 4.1.2 build 67). The plug-in seems to continually poll the database even when the 'update frequency' setting is on 0 seconds. How can I get this plug in to only update once, or when I tell it to update? This seems like a bug to me. I've contemplated

  • Re: Problem with Dekocast Transcode

It looks like you are trying to convert a Quicktime .MOV to .MXF? A quick guess here but do you have Quicktime installed on the machine you are doing the transcode on? You'll need to make sure Quicktime is installed so the Avid Transcode utility can access the Quicktime format. Hope this helps! :) Stu.

  • Re: Deko and Sports

How are your macro skills? I've used Dekos a few years ago for Cricket (a stats heavy game) quite a bit. We used a custom app written in VB6 that interacted with 2x Dekos via numerous macros. I think to get the best from the Deko in a live sports environment you need to look at doing your own custom interface that makes it easier to quickly animate

  • Deko 3000 - macro server question

Hi there I have written a python app to remotely control our Deko 3000 when the graphics department have all gone home. This connects via the macro server. I want to know if it is possible to change macro server port number from within a macro. For example - during the day I control the Deko using macro server port 10540. Then when I'm going home

  • Re: Roll question

I've found rolls to be very limited on the Deko. You could perhaps put the roll into a sequence, then render that out to an AVI/MOV using the 'make dekomovie' option - be sure to disable the 'Do not generate key' option. Import the newly rendered clip into your Deko clip editor, then to get the roll to fade out as it approaches the

  • More 3D questions!

I've spent quite a lot of time playing with the new Deko3D options and as a result also have a few more questions to ask... 1) How do I get powerclips to play when mapped to a 3d object? For testing I've used a cube that I've been mapping Deko layers to the sides of. This works, but when I try doing this with a powerclip it fails to play

  • Re: Deko3D aspect ratio

Alright - after some more playing I've found an answer to my question! Hopefully I can help others who may run into the issue down the track. The render properties in 3DStudio do play a part when exporting the 3D scene for Deko - not sure how I overlooked this initially but it didn't seem to be making any difference at first. I guess I would
