  • Re: ed prep - media composer 8,91

My $0,02. Complete your setup... inc activation, updates, 3rd party tools, everything. When done you can still run edprep on windows 7 but, depending on your setup you should only apply a limited set of optimizations. It is better to run the latest ASDT tool http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/en292603 This includes most of the edprep

  • Re: JUST A TICK

Hi George, This is not an answer to your request but the functionality you aks for already exists, just not in media composer but in Interplay. The idea to have a variation of the 'in use' feature also visible inside media composer is not a bad idea but what I wonder about is how to define the term 'in use' by who or what especially

  • Re: A show with many episodes...in only one project?

While there are other methods as well, creating many projects can help with deletion later on. If you use the media tool or MDV, creating projects per episode can make media management simpler, especially in combination with shared storage where creating storage locations (workspaces) per episode also helps. But a project that has lots of common media

  • Re: How do you delete a file "in use by another program" on Nexis?

I have seen the same behavior and while restarting the system causing the issue is, and will always be, the only solution, I wonder if the Nexis core would be able to provide information on the system keeping the file(s) from being deleted. In an interplay, mediacentral system with transcode, transfer, ingest, playout, etc... and 20+ clients this can

  • Re: Nablet release XAVC S plugin

Hi Dave, The Drastic plugin has been available for about a 1 year. In general the Drastic mediareactor plugin is a pretty good deal. It at least allows you to link to most types of media to perform a transcode as often performance issues affect playback. What worries me here is related to the 'openness' issue at Avid from the old days. When

Having choices is good so why should I complain... Well, I saw the Nablet release 2 days ago and from the moment I saw it the immediate question that popped up: 'Do Drastic, Nablet, Panasonic, Red, etc... not have occasional communications with Avid that involves feature roadmaps? That we live in a market where multple companies can be developing

  • Re: Adding Nexis Pro to existing ISIS7000 > Network questions

The setup I would go for are 4 VLAN's 1. 10G ISIS7000 left 2. 10G ISIS7000 right 3. 10G NEXIS 4. Editing clients. and enable inter vlan routing. Now there are several ways to distribute clients over both ISIS 7000 connections. • Re: Media Composer v8.9 - Launched

Andrew, (from my personal account) The Application manager and Avid master account were (and could still be) always going to cause problems as Avid never took the decision to 'clean up' or 'consolidate' the underlying databases and information stored in them. Until today, if you create a new master account you still need to create a

  • Re: UI-Windows Layout is not preserved

The (documented somewhere) trick is: frist make sure the left monitor is nr.1 and the right nr.2. If you swap monitors you will see you also have to swap them again inside the nvidia control panel and reselect the primary through right clicking the monitor. Next step is to disable the right nr2 monitor, inside the multi display setup of the nvidia control
