• Re: Firewire 400/800 usb3 adapter

Thanks! Slot 3 is used for the Nitrix DX so I'll try slot 1 then. But first I guess I need to find out why Avid don't recommend using that slot...
If you look at the HP guide, a 1394b card (your Sonnet) should go into slot 1 or slot 3.
Thanks. What HP guide are you refering to? If you could post a link I'd be greatful :) We've been using this Config Guide, page 7: http://resources.avid.com/supportfiles/config_guides/AVID%20HP%20Z440%20Config%20Guide

Thanks, Our FW card is Sonnet Allegro FW800 PCIe x1. Does that mean so could try slot 1? The Avid Z440 Configuration Guideline says slot 1 is "Not recommended for use in Avid Configurations" though...

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I've allready changed to the legacy driver but the problem still occures. In fact, when we first set up this HW a year ago and experienced these crashes, changing to legacy driver worked fine. But now I've had crashes again still with the legacy driver installed. I'll try change the slot. Any suggestions to wich

Hi. Does anyone in here still use FireWire disks and/or devices with newer HP-computers? We've been using FW-disks for years for editing DVCPRO HD/DNxHD120 with MC on our PCs. But after upgrading to an Avid qualified HPZ440, and an extra FW card installed in slot 5, I've found that Avid no longer support FW on this HW. I get system chrashes

  • audio sync h264 sorenson squeeze

Hi. I've been searching for answers to this problem and found some, but not all answers I'm afraid. I'm suddenly experiencing audio sync problems when encoding mp4/h264 in Squeeze. What I find strange is that the same files that are out of sync in QuickTime player are IN sync when played with Windows Media Player. During my research I understand

Thanks again. I can clearly see your point there Randall:) Guess both myself and the it-guys have some more reading to do. Kevin, how many users do you run on your Facilis-setup?

Thanks! Does that refer to the rights we give different partitions on the server? If this setup works, we hope to have three suites conected to the same server. I'm not that familiar with the data-technical terms of this, so I'd be most gratefull if you would give me a couple of directions... Our IT-guys will set this up for us, but they're

  • Mediaserver for editing advise

Hi. We're looking into new hard drive solutions for our editing suite(s), and just wanted to check here if anyone have any experience with what we're planning to try out. Our main disk-raid over the last three-four years have been two Sonnet Fusion DX800Raids (SAS-raid Raid5 with Atto controller/card). They have more or less worked flawless

  • Re: Pan & Zoom in MC6

Hi. We have the same problem on our systems. Sequence containing P&Z linked to original, rendered in Avid Hi Quality looks fine on clientmonitor, but on DVD we get the typical interlace-lines. Workflow: This is a project in DV50, render everything DV50, export QuickTime ref with Avid Codec, import and compress in Avid DVDbySonic. I realize this
