  • HELP file access Mac vs PC

I am trying to migrate from a PC over to AVID MC 3.1.2 on a new MacBook Pro. I still figuring out the small differences in using the Mac vs the PC and tonight while trying to do my first serious work in Avid on the Mac I am having trouble finding a help file interface that works anywhere near as easily as what I am used to on the PC. When I am working

  • Re: E sata Hard Drive for mac book pro on the go

I had started a different thread about using NTFS drives and I am still looking for some clear answers about what it possible. So far with MC 3.1.2 I am able to capture to my native mac drive and then copy and use data from my NTFS formated external drive using MacFuse or Paragon, but Avid gives me an error anytime I try and select the NTFS drive while

  • Re: MacFUSE - NTFS Capture Problems

I thought I would update this thread incase anyone is following. I thought that a Vista formatted NTFS drive might have been part of the problem so I connected a clean drive to my Mac and formatted it NFTS-3g and then NTFS with the same error results. If anyone is using External NTFS drives to capture to sucessfully in MC 3.1.1 on a Macbook Pro I would

  • Re: MacFUSE - NTFS Capture Problems

I uninstalled the MacFuse product and installed Paragon and Avid is behaving exactly the same (giving me an errror anytime I try to select that drive for captre). It seems like other people are making this work, so I may need to dig deeper into my setup. If there are any other thoughts I would love to hear them.

  • MacFUSE - NTFS Capture Problems

I have Mac Fuse installed and working on my Mac Book pro. I have previously been editing on PC, but I want to try and work cross platform. I am able to browse the drive with no problems and saved my project file on the external NTFS drive on startup. When I go into the capture module as soon as I select the drive and V, A1, A2 I get Exception: Operation

  • Re: Convert DVCPRO50 (SD) to DV25 from .mov

I do not want an MPEG2 as my final output. I am looking for a .mov in DV25 format compatible with Avid, Final Cut, and Possibly others. The goal it to let participants in the project edit the footage into their own demo reels in as high quality as possible. Since the original post I was able to get the original drive with sequence and footage, and I

  • Convert DVCPRO50 (SD) to DV25 from .mov

I shot a project with an HVX200 in DVCPRO 50 (SD). The editor who worked in Xpro made a Quicktime.mov file (in DVCPRO50) for me to use to make data dvd's with the .mov for cast and crew members that may want to use the project in the future for their reels. DVCPRO50 seems to be incompatible with Quicktime player without additional codec downloads

  • Is selecting the end of the last frame in a clip possible?

I may be missing something obvious in my manual and help file, but I was trying to do a one frame audio fade to eliminate a pop I can't edit around at a cut. On the second clip at the cut I am able to set a key frame a the 0 frame position and a key frame at the +1 frame position and make a fade between them. At the first clip (in front of the cut

  • Re: Cue to frame / direct enter time code in frame display mode ?

Thanks for the advice. Displaying the timecode window with both FRAMES and SMPTE has eliminated switching the S/R time back and forth, but I just wanted to confirm that it is NOT possible to directly navigate to a specific frame (for example typing 4694 [Enter]) into the S/R window while the S/R time is displaying frames. I understand you can move forward
