I would like to get some clarifications before I ask a colleague about this. Are you using DekoMOS via iNews or ENPS to create your Deko playback list? Also, Parker Vision became Grass Valley's Ignite a few years ago - are you still using the Parker Vision software or are you using Ignite? Are you able to manually play back an effect by recalling

I ran this idea by one of our technical experts. He asked me what reason this would be done? He said it may be possible to use automation to open a named pipe in Access, then write a script in Access to open and write to the named pipe. All quite a bit beyond my own knowledge base. How the named pipe would be opened in Access he is unsure, it would

Can you describe the process more? What type of database, what type of triggers do you want to use, and what is the end result you are looking for? Do the Deko events get triggered per time of day or via an automation system? I may not be able to answer your question even once I have your reply, but I can ask a few Avid colleagues for some ideas.

Be sure the motion or effect is linked correctly to the graphic (Style menu, graphics tab). Also, the graphic must be read to preview in order to trigger the motion/effect. If you are using dual program be sure you either set the motion or effect to play to the desired channel, or that you have last focused to the channel you want the motion to play

The database setup procedure is described in Chapter 16 of the current Deko User Guide. If you don't have the user guide please e-mail me directly and I will send the information to you. Thanks,

Most likely it is the Content Interval that is delaying your data updates. Check in the Contents tab, the content interval should be .1 (decimal then 1) if you want instant updates with new data. The transition type and duration/rate can also affect the timing. If you continue to have a problem please note all the settings in your next e-mail.

Hi Kristin, It sounds like you are doing everything right, but here are a few things to check. In your motion, be sure the Opacity parameter is active (the box should be checked). Also check that it is a Play On parameter, not a Play Off. Lastly, if you have the layer named, which is strongly advised for a MOS workflow, be sure that layer is the one

Have any or all of you contacted Tech Support with these issues? They may have you send log files to assist in determining what the problem is and then what the fix will be. Intermittent problems can be difficult to troubleshoot, but if you don't report the problem to them there is no way to find the solution. Mary Driscoll Application Editor |

You can use a GPI to set a single keystroke that will Enable/Disable a tally or turn a tally On/Off. Refer to the DekoMOS User Guide Chapter 2: Available GPI commands. User Guides are invaluable sources of information. I use the .pdf files so I can easily find any keyword. If you need a copy of this or any user guide go to http://www.avid.com/us/support

Check your Font Size settings. You may have created the font size using the Font size based on Row Height and now you are using the setting of Font size based on Cap Height (Options>Preferences>Advanced:Font size based on:) The default and most commonly used setting is Row Height.
