I can't find any information on this. My suggestion would be to google for a user group who may still be using their Alladin and see if they have the info. Good luck, Mary

DekoCast version 4.x has plug ins that can be used. If you are not upgraded to that version you can download it from the Avid site: http://esd.avid.com/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fDefault.aspx When you install version 4.x you must also install the plug ins (RSS extractor, Database extractor, iNews extractor, Engine Trigger and Image Fetcher). You must have

DekoCast v.3.6 and earlier uses .txt data, DekoCast v4 and higher can use .txt, ODBC databases, RSS data or iNews data. I believe you would need to translate the XML data to one of these sources, then use that in your crawl.

A roll can be confined to the boundaries of the layer by clicking on the Options tab in the Effect menu and selecting In Layer. To make a soft edge you would need to create a clip that will mask the layer. The clip can be either a bgd clip or a layer clip. Reorder the priority so that the CG plane is behind the other planes. Assuming you have tested the .wav file with another audio application and the audio file is fine there, it should play fine with a motion. What is the action you have the audio file attached to? Try it with a very simple layer action. If you have tried running it with a very simple action/motion and it still does not trigger you should contact customer

You have the right audio files, 48 kHz .wav files. In order to hear the audio you must monitor it via your audio system. Audio is embedded with video and must be de-embedded to hear it, either on speakers you install local to the Deko or through your audio board. For more information check with your engineers or customer support.

Clips can be used in the background or as a layer. However since clips are part of the Clip Plane they will ALWAYS appear behind any Deko layers or Deko background regardless of the layer number. The new PowerClips option, available on Deko3000 running version 5.x, will allow small clips to be placed in Deko layers and maintain their visual priority
