  • Re: color adapters

I have a Symphony and would like to try color grading from scratch. Is there some way to remove all LUTS or color adapters and start with RAW or uncorrected in any way? I like to do my own laundry too, and iron my own shirts...

  • color adapters

I inherited a film project and all the shots (from Alexa Mini) have color adapters on them. I have tried to remove them by selecting all the master clips in the bin and deleting them from Source Settings. I have tried right-clicking on a sequence and removing color adapters by refreshing sequence. I have tred deleting them with the delete effect tool

  • Re: export to OMF (not AAF) with v.8.8.2?

How does one transcode the audio (after deleting the video tracks)? Is there a way to do it directly from the timeline?

  • MC 8.6.3 and RED plugin help

I just downloaded the new version of Media Composer (with Symphony option) and also the RED plugin, which I guess is pretty new and only works with MC 8.6+. I just got dailies delivered which are RED 5K 2:1, and while the files are copying I thought I'd look up the workflow for the plugin. Either I'm retarded or the workflow is not published

  • Re: Moving an entire project to another drive

NO one has an answer regarding how to do this within the AVID, so I named my new G-Speed the same name as the old media drive, and then copied everything over exactly the same, folders, etc. So the data structure on the two drives is exactly the same. Then AVID can't tell the difference, none of the file paths in the linking info have changed, so

  • Moving an entire project to another drive

I'm on MC 8.4.2 and have a feature film project that is mostly ProRes 422 files liked by AMA, but also some media which has been imported, mostly music and sound effects. I have it all on a G-Raid 4TB drive (2-drives) and want to move it all to a G-Speed Studio R drive, which is thunderbolt and 24TB. What would be the safest way to move everything

  • Re: importing Broadcast Wav files

I talked to the production sound mixer who said, whoops, I should have sent you poly files.... But on another note, the separate files don't seem to import if they contain no audio.... is Avid that smart?

  • importing Broadcast Wav files

The sound takes I got from the production sound mixer are all separate tracks, ie, each track is a separate file. I'm used to receiving takes such that all tracks are embedded in the same file: like Scene 1 tk 1 will have one audio file, but when you import it, you see that there are six tracks. The first day's audio that I just downloaded has
