Thanks for the replies. Good to get first hand experience of hackintosh route. It's obviously a last resort and perhaps I haven't considered replacing with a newer, but still old, Mac enough. 'Upgrading' to a min 5 year old computer doesn't feel like a great option but this is where we are I guess (thanks Apple!). Any more hackintosh

+1 here. I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed for so long - it's unbelievably annoying to discover for the nth time in as many years that MC has has quietly changed the settings you made and spread your material over whatever random drives it felt like. This is basic stuff which causes serious annoyance.

I'm upgrading from 5 to 5.5.1 and I get this error, but when I look in Library>Application Support there is no Digidesign folder to delete files from - any ideas?

I've been using the Avid qualified HP NW8440 laptop, which has an ATI graphics card, with MC for the last 3 years without any issues. I'd been planning to upgrade to the new Macbook but will have to wait now to see if it qualifies.

I used to have this problem with QT ref exports on Xpress. I'm just setting up a completely new system - MC 2.6.4 on Avid approved HP nw8440 and the green line is apparent at the top of the composer in the first test footage I bring in (25P DV 1:1).
