  • Re: Experience/Opinions on Mimiq?

I have used it on two systems with a qnap and it worked flawlessly. Highly recommed. The engineer at Indiestor is awesome and if you do run into problems, he is very responsive.

  • link problems

I'm not even sure how to describe, so here it goes. I started a project in 2019.6 on one trashcan, and linked to files on a thunderbolt drive. I then switched locations to use my shared media storage in my office. I have the exact same folder on my shared server at home (10GB qnap). When I went to relink, it showed the files offline....and here's

  • Re: eGPU Support in the Pipeline?

did that as well. Works like a champ. I did an earlier post on this. The trick was having a monitor hooked up to the egpu and then making that monitor the "primary" monitor. I added new life to my 2012 MBpro with a 4GB Geforce and a OWC box.

Curious as to what post is false? Currently I have a 2013 trashcan running HS and MC 2018.10 and I have a Sonnet breakaway box with a GeForce 1070ti 8 GB hooked up via thunderbolt. Both external monitors are being sourced from the egpu and Media Composer is using the 1070ti to do DVE effects. Unless I'm missing something, it would seem that it is

  • Re: 10.13.6 2018.8 and network drive project save error

KK, I use my NAS in both situations. Sometimes I do project sharing with indiestor's mimiq (fantastic) and sometimes I just use it for shared storage. For my tests, I have tried both configurations with the exact same result. To reiterate, I have used both configurations flawlessly in 10.12.6. I'm attaching the error message I get.

KK, Yup. New project, new settings, same results. I am baffled. The exact same setup works flawlessly in 10.12.6. Thanks for the response. Brennan

UPDATE: I did a clean install of the High Sierra OS 10.13.1. I then did a clean install of MC 8.9.3. (my latest version 2018.9 does the same thing as 8.9.3, I just happen to have a dongle for that one which makes it easier to check different processes) I then tried opening up a project from multiple network drives and none would save the project file

Hey Marianna, I did all you recommended but no joy. The odd thing is that all the bins save fine to the network dirve, just not the project file. I thought it was the newest avid software, but I also have high sierra installed on my laptop running the last version 8.9.3? before the naming convention switch. Upon opening the project, a warning message

  • 10.13.6 2018.8 and network drive project save error

I just updated to latest high sierra and mc and am having problems saving the project to a network drive. Prior to the update, no problems. I can save to internal drive as well as direct connected drives. Thoughts?

  • Re: eGPU Support in the Pipeline?

I have't done any real metrics, but I bought a box from Other World Coomputing, put in a 4GB nvidia card hooked up to 2012 laptop running Sierra, followed some instructions on setting up eGPU from the interwebs. Restarted, hooked in a secondary monitor to the OWC box and launched MC. I opened the video preview settings and there it was. It may have
