I think this is a bug. I have an old machine with After Effects 7.0 and I was able to use that program to read the TIFF sequences and render them out in the animation codec + alpha for MC. If anyone wants to test the TIFF sequence on his/her system PM me and I'll send you a download link.

I received a tiff sequence with alpha channel. I assume it was exported from After Effects. If I open a fame in Preview I can see an image with a grey background - so I assume that is the alpha or transparent area of the image. I would deactivate the license, uninstall 6.0.5 with the Avid uninstall tools, upgrade to 10.8.5 (Download the "OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo)" from apple), install 7.0.3, and activate. All of your bins/projects will stay where they are and should work just as before.

Oh...that might be because the 6.5.4.2 update just came out this week. 7.0.3 has been around for much longer. They are probably going to move 7 to 5.9 firmware on the next point release. It sounds like you just made some recent purchases from Avid - so hopefully you have an active support code linked to your account. Might be best to call Avid? Playing

Oh, yeah it could be a spanned file... What version of MC are you on? I know they just fixed a spanned file bug with the release of 6.5.4.2 (why can't they just go to 6.5.5?)

Try it with the console window open...maybe it will give more detail? Like which clip(s) cause the message? Or you could group a couple, see if that works, add another, try again, until you hit the clip that doesn't work. I thought you only got that message if you accidently selected a sequence or another group clip, but maybe it has another meaning
