  • Re: Missing End and Duration timecodes from P2

So files on my hard drive aren't really a copy of what was on the card? They're missing the metadata from the original files?

For sure. At this point I'm not sure how they're in an "incorrect order," they're just hanging out in a MXF folder. It's clearly happening where the card became full and it moved to a second card; the second half of the media is contained in files that don't appear in the Media Tool or bin because they're the continuation

Okay, well the cards were all reformatted many moons ago so I'll need a work around. Could the media files in question be moved in correct sequence to a new drive, allowing Avid to re-determine the info? Otherwise maybe I do a video mix-down of the TC-less material and give it the TC I want?

Yeah I've been dragging from the Video and Audio folders on the P2 card to sequential folders in the MXF folder and then importing into my bins through the Media Tool. Fair enough that the cards may have been imported in a different order than the camera laid them to the cards but what's the solution to the problem?

These actually aren't on a reader, they were imported directly to a hard drive from the cards.

  • Missing End and Duration timecodes from P2

Hi, I can't be the first faced with this but my searches have failed. Several clips imported from P2 to AXP 5.7.2 have no end TC or duration, the TC drops out somewhere along the clip. They all are all clips that span multiple media files (if I try to delete there are usually 10 associated files). All the media files for each clip are in the same

  • Re: MacBook Pro + HVX200 = ?

Don't know if its good news or bad that the problems don't go without saying. Ultimately I'm wondering if these three items work well together (with hiccups) or if its an endless uphill slog; should I buy them or should I go with something else? Some of the problems I was thinking of are: http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/thread/183594.aspx …workflow

  • MacBook Pro + HVX200 = ?

At the risk of rehashing an old discussion, I'm curious if the horror story threads are still valid or if new developments and updates allow the HVX200 to work well with AXP on a MacBook Pro? I'd like to buy the camera and the laptop and stick with Avid. If that's a bad idea, which of the three pieces should I first consider abandoning. I'm not worried

  • Re: HD on MacBook Pro

I traveled for a year with a 15" powerbook and was glad not to have the extra size and weight of a 17" notebook. In fairness I was working 15:1 so the size advantage of the larger screen was moot. That said, I'm about to upgrade to a 15" MacBook Pro and save the 1.4 pounds, inch of width and inch of depth the 17" would saddle me with.

  • Re: “Bus error” in thread “MainThread”

I've changed permission for every folder I can find (over 100) but no better. I've found at least two graphics files I believe to be corrupt through the divide-and-conquer method and believe I’ve deleted them (one I couldn’t find in a bin so I deleted all like-named files from my OMFI folder). The error now seems limited to when I open or close bins
