Well after looking at the upgrade price for BCC, if I had it I would go for the Symphony upgrade but I don't have it. I will have to really weigh this one now..... Jeff

Just to bounce in on this thread. I think I am going to bite the bullet and get the upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0. I saw it in the Avid store for $575. 1. Is that the current deal and/or correct pricing for going from 5.0 (not 5.5) to 6.0? 2. Is this just an upgrade for MC? Or does it include upgrades for Avid DVD, Avid FX, Sqeeze, etc? 3. Do I need to drop

I just looked it up on line unless there is something else, the cost for a MC upgrade is $575. Other $424 sounds like a good value for what you get but right now the $575 is hard to find! Jeff

As far as experience, I am one of many

Thanks for the candid reply. In looking at the forum, 6 looks a bit buggy right now.... plus there is the cost. Oh well I guess I will continue to use the various products I am now to accomplish things. But I guess I still am wondering from a purely technical standpoint, why would the transcode time still be as long as it was on an older and over all

Last week I received in my new hotness, a 17" Hd laptop with the new 3rd gen i7 proc (4 core with HT), 8 gig ram, 128gb SSD OS/App drive, 750GB data/render drive, nVidia GTX675m (Yes I know it is not "supported") and 1066mhz FSB. While I realize that my version of MC (5.0.4.4) is only a 32 bit app, I was a bit disapointed when I imported

The original question was do I really need to copy over to my laptop the entire original file and folder stucture from the SD card or just the MTS files themselves. I had seen some dicussion about needing to grab it all. Jeff
