  • Please sign up for my Immersion 3rd party tools class!!!

Just want to point out a little bit about this special class. What this class does is give you a start on using some very powerfull free tools out there to turn your Liquid system into a production studio. Blender: Blender is a free 3D animation program very much like Lightwave. It is a very complex program but I show you how to get started and how

  • Re: Sequences and timelines?

Always put a mark in and mark out for each sequence for it to come back into a new sequence at the correct length. Think of a sequence the same as any regular clip such as a DV file. If you put a DV file on your timeline and adjust soem settings on the clip in the timeline then the clip in the rack will not change as well. Clips and sequences are raw

  • Re: Asymmetric dual-monitors

Not sure if this will help but sometimes I run a second monitor hooked up to my laptop. The laptop runs at 1440x900 and the second monitor is 1680x1050. of course both of these are widescreen but they work as fine as can be one one monitor is running a non native resolution. One thing I have done and some people say it will break the monitor but I run

  • Re: Title Deko Pro

Scott is correct. it is kind of a clumsy and crude way of doing it but it does remind of the old days when we tried to create animation in photoshop by doing it one image at a time. here is what you can do. 1. Create your text on a curve the way it want it to look. 2. Set the nudge factor in TDKPro to fine and use the arrow keys to move it 1 pixel at

  • Re: Dissolve Through White?

Light flashes and light blooms are just exactly that. Light. These things occur because of a change in lighting or exposure of the camera. To get the best results for this effect you need to try to fake the look of light or exposure changing the scene and not just add white color. You want the highlights to bloom out so the get bigger and bigger until

  • Re: Can Liquid 6 & other Avid software live together?

Just keep an eye on Xpress so it doesn't pick on poor little Liquid when you are not looking.

  • Re: AVID LIQUID ON MAC ??

I agree with Lew. While Apple has made some interesting software in the recent years the hardware is pretty much exactly the same as PC hardware. It's kind of ironic that for years Apple said their hardware was much better then PC hardware and then they went and switched to the same exact hardware as PC's. So basically they lied for years and years

  • Re: Can Liquid 6 & other Avid software live together?

Besides Xpress might get jealous of how good Liquid is and throw a fit being on the same system. Xpress doesn't like to play fair and share with the other kids.

  • Re: Liquid and AfterEffects

    1. Uncompressed "none" AVI. 24bit or 32bit. 32bit is with an alpha channel of course. Liquid can be setup as a native AVI RGB "none" NLE by shoosing the AVI RGB codec for your projects. You of course can also mix any of these files in any other sequence since RGB AVI is a native Liquid format. 2. m2v. After Effects has built in the Main Concept mpeg2

  • Re: Sony PMW-EX1 or Panasonic AG-HVX200?

Oh as for editing with Liquid. The 25mbit mode is actually exactly he same as HDV except on the SxS cards. You can even capture it through firewire from the camera just like a HDV camera so it will still work with Liquid in that way. The camera will also come with software that will onvert on transfer to MXF which will also work in Liquid exactly the
