  • Re: New Mac Pro whith Media Composer

Gotcha. Hopefully we'll here something soon. I'm sure there are a lot of Nirtis owners who are wondering how to upgrade.... Thanks for the reply!

Hi Derrick, Just curious if you were able to use your sonnet chassis to work with the Nitris DX box. Ideally I'd like to use the Express-3 TB2 chassis to run my Nitris and (upcoming) RR-X card. I'll also be using the R6 12TB raid. I'm hoping to hear you're having success! Thanks! Brian

  • Multiple frame rate help

Hi everyone, I have been tasked with editing a feature film made up of multiple segments shot around the world. Filmmakers shot/edited their own segments, but now I'm rebuilding their projects to make minor changes and for final assembly. I'm working in Avid 5.5.2. I have mostly 25fps and 23.98fps footage (and one 30fps). I'm in the US,

  • Avid Mix and Match results

Hi guys, I'm mixing frame rates for the first time and am having sub par results. I'm sure there's a setting I'm missing somewhere. I'm editing a 1080p/23.98 project and need to incorporate some 25fps footage (actually another 25p timeline). So I imported my 25fps sequence into my 23.98 project. That worked great. I get the little

  • Re: Relinking help

Yeah, I know. And I can still do that. I just wanted all of the raw footage as well, not just what was in the sequence. Not a huge deal. Ok, so next question...I'm receiving several sequences from several editors that I need to combine into one sequence. Half of the sequences are 25fps and half are 23.98. I want to edit in 23.98. When I bring in

  • Re: Relinking help

Thanks guys. @Larry - The file structure is as it should be. I deleted the database files in each numerical folder and rebuilt, but still cannot relink. @ Kevin - This is a feature film built from 25 filmmaker's short segments...so it's actually 25 different sequences totaling about 90 minutes at this point. I REALLY don't want to manually

  • Relinking help

Hi all, I need some help relinking. I don't do this a lot, so maybe I'm missing something simple. I have been sent a Final Cut project and all of the raw footage. I used Automatic Duck to convert the .fcp sequence into an AAF (and OMF). I then bring either of those into Avid, which works great. As expected all of the sequence/footage is offline

  • Re: CLARIFY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS & PROBLEMS MC 5.5/6

[quote user="Brian Shephard"] I also have a question regarding qualified systems... On the matrix it says that " Mac Pro dual Quad Core 3.0 or 3.2 GHz "Harpertown" GeForce 8800 GT" are qualified. What about the 2.8GHz?!?! Has anyone had any luck running with this? I have the 2.8 w/GeForce 8800 GT, 14GB DDR2. I don't

  • 4.0 Compressor Settings

Hi everyone, I have recently upgraded to MC 4.0.4 from 3.5. In the past, I have used the AudioSuite Compressor to adjust my final levels. Now in 4.0 they have changed it to Compressor/Limiter DYN 3. This plug-in seems to be a little different than the previous Compressor in 3.5 and below. I used to edit my project and keep the dialogue levels at -20
