  • 2018.7 bug - Timeline bug and Live timeline request

Is there a thread already created that I should report 2018.7 bugs? I did not see one so I'll post this one here. I am presently running Media Composer 2018.7 on Windows 7. After moving a clip on the timeline with segment mode there is a ghosted, semi-transparent version of the clip that remains in its old spot. This visual ghost remains until change

  • Re: Blackmagic Software Wont Install on Win7 System

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers? You can do this by uninstalling the Desktop Utility program. If that doesn't work than I recommend uninstalling or rolling back the driver via your Device Manager. And if that still doesn't work then perhaps consider doing a system restore. The system restore should be generating a few choices- hopefully

  • Re: Markers

Hi Bushfilm. There are two ways to accomplish what you are looking to do. To manually do this, place a marker on the frame of video that you want to sync on clip A, the car door. Assuming you want to sync this up with a SFX of a door slamming, which we'll call clip B. Place a marker on the exact spot on the audio clip where the SFX begins. Use segment

  • Strange Marker behavior

I've noticed some strange marker window behavior in MC 2018.5. Firstly, when you're over a marker on your sequence and you hit your marker window shortcut (to bring up all the markers in a sequence, not the individual text edit box), the marker window no longer opens with the present marker selected. I often have 200+ markers on any given sequence

  • Settings not saving and other weird bugs

I am presently running Avid Media Composer 8.8.1, but I should note that the following problems have occured on different workstations (all avid configuration approved), running different versions of media composer 8 (including the most current version), and also with different user settings. My user settings are stored locally on the internal drive

  • Control audio mixer by keyboard

I'd love to see the ability to set certain things in the audio mixer fast menu to the keyboard. Currently we can set menu items (including ones on the timeline fast menu) to the keyboard using the "Menu to button" reassignment option. However, this does not work for the audio mixer. It would be great to be able to assign the various options
  • Re: ProRes Import and Conslidate woes- Audio Static in ProRes clips

Unfortunaltey, the problem didn't go away as I thought. It just switched the static issue from channel 2 to channel 1.. Even if ProRes isn't supported by AVID for PC, it's still a strange issue. I'll just have to edit in AVC and deal with it for deliverables.

For anyone else that has seen this issue- it seems I neglected to choose to convert the clip's sample rate to the project's. Turns out, the source clips were 44khz. Choosing to make them 48khz removed the static issue.

  • ProRes Import and Conslidate woes- Audio Static in ProRes clips

Running Media Composer 8.8.1 on a windows 7pro workstation (details below). The DP shot XAVC HD clips on a Sony FS7 but the network requires that we convert all the raw clips to ProRes 422. The final piece also needs to be delivered in that format, so I figured I would also bring the ProRes clips into avid and edit in that format. I used a third party
