  • Freestanding Timecode Window

At some point over the past few iterations of MC, I started noticing a choppiness to the timeline progress bar, the audio meters during playback, and when I add 'ins' and 'outs' and markers during playback there is a noticeable delay, as well as an occasionable stutter in the composer window. No playback problems on the client monitors

  • Re: XAVC-S Timecode - AMA link

Has there been any update on this? I've just installed 2018.10 and am having the same problem with TC being read using XACV-S clips. Clip 0001 will have the correct TC, but Clip 0002 starts again at 00:00:00:00. This last shoot I got this morning has 147 of 180 clips without proper TC. All of the clips were shot 59.94. There is no technical difference

  • Re: Segment Mode on PC vs MAC

Well - I should have done more poking around - SHOW FOUR FRAME DISPLAY was checked on in my timelime settings. At least now I know what setting that does.

  • Segment Mode on PC vs MAC

I know this is kind of apples vs oranges - but this Im primarily on a PC and I just noticed how much smoother this operation is on a Mac - Whenever I use segment or slip mode on a PC - the preview and program monitor switch to a 4 screen and this creates a lag and a stutter whenever I go into those modes and start dragging footage around On a Mac these

  • Re: Mount all drives

I don't think that 'mount all drives' would work in this particular case - my understanding of 'mount all drives' (and how I use the command) is that it reads network attached drives as media drives if they contain the Avid MXF folder structure. You might have another issue going on - how is your drive formatted? NTFS? EXFAT?

DIESELE's footage was shot at 100 fps and the TC came in fine at HD 1080 (Im assuming thats a 25fps project). scocklin's footage was 24 and the TC didnt link correctly (not sure of project fps - assuming 24) . Im going to check what the frame rate was for the footage Im having trouble with. It was a mixed rate shoot (some 60, some 24) - and

This is the problem that I had - UHD footage had correct TC - the HD footage was actually a mixed bag. Some of it AMA'd with the correct TC, but some of it didnt.

Using the software C onvert V4 (or now named Dali's Mustache) - rewrapping preserves the original camera TC. That proper TC can be seen in Premiere before converting. (I tend to bring in all of the XAVC_S footage into Premiere to make sure that the files do, indeed, have proper TC). In my case - all the zeros that are showing up in MC 2018.8 are

  • Re: XAVC-S Timecode - AMA link

I can re-wrap the footage into an MOV container and get the correct TC. Thats just an extra step though, and doubles the amount of hard drive space taken up. The TC doesnt start with 00:00:00:00 - it can be seen in Premiere that the clips all have proper TC values (in this case - starting at the :08 hour mark)

  • XAVC-S Timecode - AMA link

I know that reading XAVC-S timecode has been a problem in the past - but I was under the impression that it was fixed in MC 2018.8. The problem Im having is only half of the files from a shoot are coming in with the proper TC. The two clips in the image attached were shot sequentially - same frame rate, same raster size, same codec - but only one of
