• Re: What to do when a bin opens like this?

I don't know that this will work, but it's worth a try: 1. Click on the bin to make it active 2. Press CTRL+' (the apostrophe key) This is the Home command, and it puts whatever window is active where the system "wants" it to be.

  • Re: Can't open title tool?

What is your project format? If I recall correctly, the basic title tool won't work in projects higher than HD, which could be why you're seeing the message you're seeing.
In short, can I film lighting stands on the edge of frame against a white bg, with the subject (me) fully-centred, then mask out the stands and fully end up with a smooth white bg completely across the frame with the subject fully remaining?
In theory, yes, if you have the tools to make it look good you can
I have the NewBlue FX green-screen plug-in and there I can, if chosen, shoot a full length body, which then would include filming the 4-point lighting set-up, then simply mask around just the body, key out the green, and replace the entire extraneous with the desired background. Likewise, here, with a white background

  • Re: Barn doors in shot

The paint effect in Avid will allow you to clone part of a shot and move it over another part. Failing that, depending on how small an edge you're talking about you could use 3d warp or frame flex to blow the shot up a little. If they all have to match, blow them all up the same amount.

  • Re: Recovering back-ups from Sequences

Hi, On the bin with your sequence(s) in it, choose Set Bin Display from the bin fast menu. In the Set Bin Display box that comes up, check "Show reference clips" at the bottom, leave everything else set to whatever it is already, and click OK. Now you should see all the clips that make up the sequences in your bin. You can click on them and

  • Re: Effect on Top (Graphic) Layer Only
Okay... I already do that all the time. But if I apply an effect to it (like spin) it effects the video on V1 as well. So if I am following the suggestions in this thread correctly, I would create the spin (or any other effect) by promoting this matte key to 3D and then manipulating the parameters in the effects
So if, for example, I create a graphic in Photoshop and save it as a .png and import it with an alpha channel, how do it turn that in a matte key?
In that workflow, the result of the import should be a matte key effect already. You could drop it onto whatever video track was open above your background on

  • Re: Completely Re-imagined
you don't care in the order
I phrased that badly. What I meant was there are a lot of posts from users about features they need in their workflows, and not all of them are the same. I don't think that the features I'D like to see are SO VERY IMPORTANT that they must be implemented RIGHT NOW, BEFORE
