I have now upgraded to 16gb of RAM, and same problem! ***********BUT I CAN NOW DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM BETTER******** Avid Media Composer First won't load the new 'dashboard' when it loads. It opens fine but then won't open the dashboard. This is what won't load - this is taken from a tutorial video on youtube: Instead, I get this:

I followed all those tips - I just install Media Composer 8.9 (the full software) and uninstalled then re-installed Media First. Still does exactly the same thing. Argh! Is there a way to get Avid support to look into this?

That's actually the older driver for the HD3000 - I have a newer one installed. And yes, I have application manager working fine and I followed all those instructions. There's obviously a bug with my particular setup, OR for some reason the dialogue box is off-screen when it is loaded, and I cant click anything

Hi Pilot! Thanks for responding! Alt-F4 does work - it brings up the "LEAVE THE APPLICATION?" dialogue box. Why does nothing else work? Is there an off-screen dialogue box that I can't see??? I'd love to know what you see when you first start up 'First', and what the key combinations are to get it started. I'm running Media

By the way, another confusing thing is that the Q&A sticky post on this forum says that First doesnt require iLok or any other device. Obviously, it does - it requires iLok software - as it has given me plenty of errors during installation lol

  • Dashboard doesn't load [SOLVED]

------------------------------------------- UPDATE August 13, 2017 It's working now! Thanks Pilot and AndrewAction, your advice was amazing! This is what worked for me: 1. Upgraded my RAM so that I had at LEAST 6gb (in my case, I went from 4gb to 16gb) 2. Uninstalled "First" totally, by clicking on the START menu and typing 'apps &

The codec is just tooooo slowwwww - both inside DaVinci and Avid. Plus it is mega buggy - even inside DaVinci I often get weird random frames saying 'media offline' zz im transcoding

Asaf, if you're still having this issue, would you be able to record a quick clip with the GH5 (a few seconds), then re-wrap as you have been and upload somewhere? I can then see if it works in my Avid. Then we know whether it is because of Avid on your end or the re-wrap process. FYI, another piece of the puzzle... Avid's AMA reports that these
