  • CTRL+Scroll wheel on mouse used to zoom timeline... ?

Hi all, Sorry to both everyone with this question but have to turnaround a quick project today and I'm struggling with jumping into 2019.whatever :-)))) (Most of the systems I'm using aren't the new improved totally different interface lol) How do I make it so that holding Ctrl and using the mouse wheel (center button thing) zooms in and

  • Abrupt audio fades/dissolves in 2019.9

Hi all, When I'm adding dissolves/fades to audio clips in 2019.9 it makes the sounds fade out nicely and then BAM turn off... The nice "tapering out" of the dissolves is now very abrupt. Anyone know why this is happening? All was absolutely fine on Avid 2018... Toby

  • Re: 2019 version, can one go back to 2018.12?

Steve, thanks for that link to the Kevin McAuliffe videos! I’ll watch. I think we will all get used to the new Avid - and they have put a great deal of effort into making it highly customizable. It would be amazing if there was a “change all settings to match my old version for now” button though - for people who start working with

  • Re: New Media Composer Available for Download!

I'm excited to learn about the new Media Composer, but I can't find any detailed information. The website just takes you around and around in circles with rather vague details :-) Is there a detailed, technical article somewhere or post that explains what is different and improved etc in DETAIL for existing users?

  • Re: Still can't choose to relink to higher than HD only?

After further testing, I can see that the "old" method still works - I relink and it finds the DNXHD36 files, but then I create a new bin and use the SOURCE BROWSER to ama link in the r3d clips. Then, miraculously / oddly, the original files update magically to be linked to the R3Ds. It's such bizarre behavior - I wish Avid would fix this

  • Still can't choose to relink to higher than HD only?

Hi all, So I'm cutting with Scarlet-W 4K r3d files in Avid 2018.12.3.51505 on PC, and I have transcoded them to DNXHD 36 format. The drive with the r3ds has moved - how can I tell Avid to relink to them? Each time I try to relink it finds the darn DNXHD 36 files, not the R3Ds. I've pressed "highest quality" and I've read other

  • Re: How can I import or AMA link to a 4K HEVC MP4 file?

Sorry to piggyback on an old thread :) But how does one rewrap H265 media? I'm trying to work with H265 stuff and it's the weekend so I can't buy MediaReactor... :-) toby

  • Re: Editing Panasonic GH5 files

Hi everyone, I made two videos showing GH5 files linking easily into Avid 8.9.1 on PC. The first video is with the current GH5 firmware, 1.2: https://vimeo.com/231803785 (Made with my own footage.) The second video is with the upcoming 2.0 firmware: https://vimeo.com/231780540 (The GH5 files that I used are Andrew Reid's sample files, available

  • Re: Editing Panasonic GH5 files

Dave that's a little frustrating - I assumed, from your posts, that you had actual GH5 files and were contributing your findings! :-( Are you just "guessing" what plug-in that Avid 8.9.1 is using to interpret H264 10-bit files from the GH5? If so, that isn't very helpful I'm afraid. The "link" dialogue box definitely

  • Re: Editing Panasonic GH5 files

DStone, can you clarify this - you're saying that, regardless of what Avid is telling us, the .mov files are actually being interpreted by Quicktime? Because the .mov files are DEFINITELY saying they are being interpreted by the Generic Plug-in. And they work very well on my system. Also, Villem, FYI I'm not able to replicate the frame duration
