  • Re: AMA linked file's timecode does not match source timecode.

I just had a similar problem on my Windows MC: inputting through Source Browser gave me linked clips all with the same source timecode of 00:00:00:00, making a timecode based autosync impossible. Using the Media Tool I had the same problem unless I imported copies in MXF OP1A format, but even that didn't work every time. The video files in question

  • Re: 8.6.3 SubCap useless

subcap appears to have lost all the text in mc 8.6, plus editing global parameters is no longer global, only some things are changed and style sheets are not being applied. Am I missing something or is this a known bug in 8.6?

  • Re: importing .txt into subcap

Yes, thanks. But for now it seems that notepad is doing something strange, too. Whatever the cause, having to chop up a long caption list is a little too time consuming. To add to the wierdness, another project had no problem importing the full caption list on the same machine.

Thanks TrevorA! Divide and conquor worked. I tried saving the file as Unicode UTF 16, too, but that did not help. Only by breaking the list down into little bits did I get it in. Anything over 12 captions would not import. So the answer was not in the previous post and everyone at this postprod facility can actually count! :) grazia X 1000

  • importing .txt into subcap

I am baffled. I can detect no timecode problems, the formatting seems correct. Just to test this voodoo I successfully imported an older Avid DS.txt file and subcaps made the titles magically appear on the timeline. My newer subtitles, made in exactly the same way, will not import no matter what I do. I've used WordPad and Word, and am wondering
