• Re: Building a PC for the first time - Avid compatible?

Have you looked at the X299 chipsets? I have been considering them. Also did you do a power supply calculation? Seems like your choice might be a bit tight. I just lost my PSU and ordered a 1050 - might be a bit overkill - I did several claulations and I need about 850. That is with a video card that only draws 75 watts. There are several sites you

Same here - I have been struggling with it as well - sometimes I just go back to Title tool. I have been looking for a simple tutorial on the basics as well - They do respond to support when you contact them -

  • Re: MC 8.9.4 will not shut down

I have something simliar - and I found it was the Matrox Mini - When I power the mini off - MC has no problem and shuts down normally. In my situation it is the MatroxMini - I suspect the drivers of the matrox are causing issues since the Mini no longer has updated drivers for MC (or maybe the OS?).

  • Re: MC 8.9.3 duplicates sequence into thin air - lost an hour of work

I usally back up my project/sequences frequently on an external hard drive - just in case a sequence gets lost. I realize it is time consuming and a pain - however when working on a edit sometimes I do not alwys use this method. So I sure hope avid addresses this issue- Not sure if I will upgrade until I know for sure this problem is resolved. thank
Any help appreciated on what's the best/safest way to rollback to 8.8.5!
Pretty easy - just go through the un-install process of 8.9.1. After completed then go to the download page and download 8.8.5 - then install. So far for me all is ok - if you want, you may want to contact avid support before
Anyone else out there finding this or similar?
I had a similar issue in 8.9 - I could not link to Pro Res - so I went back to 8.8.5 - now everything is fine. Seems 8.9 and 8.9.1 are very buggy - I willl be staying on 8.8.5 for awhile as my faith in these upgrades have diminshed.
These lenses have gearing, so you can probably add a knob onto a Zacuto rig. FWIW, the FS7 out of the box is not great for hand holding, but add a Zacuto or other rig and it's quite nice. Not an ENG camera, but definately able to hand hold.
[ Right most definately - they have gears for follow focus and
