  • Re: batch import quicktime with alpha

QT Change, from VideoToolshed, can scan a folder of Quicktime files and delete the audio tracks. The files will then batch import happily... http://www.videotoolshed.com/product/42/qtchange

  • Re: Avid Calculator Divide button

Just had a quick look - it's still there on 8.3.1... the foward slash button between "CE" and "x"...?

  • Re: subcap: italics

Hi Job - thank you for correcting me - I've only ever exported from SubCap projects with one track, so made a rash assumption! It prompted me to check exactly how it behaves, and as you say, if subtitles overlap on different tracks, the start of each new subtitle also becomes the end of any previous one. The subtitle on the highest track takes precedence

  • Re: subcap: italics

No, an export from Subcap would only have the text data from one video track. So from the main track you'd get spaces instead of italic words. Probably not very useful... It might help to know more about your workflow - what do you do with your exported data?

  • Re: subcap: italics

If you only have a few sections to do, you might be able to add a second subcap track above your main one, and set the style of the upper track to italic. Then replace the offending words in the lower track with spaces, and enter just the italic words in the upper track, adding spaces t position them. Or even fake the italic words in the title tool

  • Re: Subtitles import and SubCap

Have had another look at your file, and noticed that the end code of quite a few subtitles is exactly the same as the start code of the next one (for example 9, 12, 13 15...). I think the Avid would see these as overlapping and ignore the first ones. I also tried importing the EBU file into Belle Nuit, but this dropped out around subtitle 6, so I think

  • Re: Subtitles import and SubCap

Just had a quick look at your original aas file from Aegisub - the end timecode for subtitle 7 is very slightly earlier than the start timecode for subtitle 8 - that will cause problems...! In my version of Aegisub, when the "current" subtitle (the one you're editing) is subtitle 7, then subtitle 8 shows in red. this indicates a timing

  • Re: Importing EBU-N19 in subcap effect doesn't work

Hi, Getting subtitle files to load into Avid can be a bit of a challenge, but once you've cracked it, it saves a lot of time! I use the Avid DS format, which is in fact the second example you give in your message. If you type some subtitles manually from scratch in Avid, then export them by the "Export Caption Data..." option, you'll

  • Re: SubCap Generator Bug - Caption Text Form Issue

Just a thought - and apologies if you're already doing this - but are you using the "Caption Text" box in the Effect Editor window, or the one that opens when you click Edit Master Caption List?

  • Re: opening EDL in Avid 5.5 and with footage cut on lightworks

Relinking can be done from an EDL in MC 5.5 based on "Start TC and Tape". If you are very lucky (!), all your source material might have been shot on one day by one camera, i.e. not have any overlapping timecodes. In that case, you could first select all your imported Avid media clips and modify the "Source" to be a fake tape number
