Rome by night

Posted By: Richard Bentley

Hello everyone. Well, I've been teaching and using Media Composer for a long time, and I've also worked with cameras - a long time ago. That's all changing now, since I bought a Canon 7D to shoot HD. This short film was shot at 720p at 50fps for the slow motions shots. The sound was recorded live with the saxophonist here in the centre of Rome, where I am working this week.

Filmed over 2 hours and pulled together in MC5 in about an hour. Nicely compressed to 640x360, single pass H.264 giving 34.4MB in size for 1m 37sec.

Paul, the saxophonist used to be a filmmaker, visual artist and now prefers to channel others' art though sax skills. He is from Vienna.

These are just baby steps for me, and I have a lot to learn about the camera and the lenses, but that will come and so will the quality, I hope.

Thanks for taking a look,

Richard.

PS. I have started using www.vimeo.com to host my work, and am going to try and make a short film every month.
