I run Avid Media Composer 5.0.3 on a Mac Book Pro 7. It ran fine on 10.6.8, then eventually crashed and wouldn't even open. I installed OS 10.6.7 and Avid ran great all day. Then after closing the program and trying to open it again the next day, the same error happened: "Bus error" in thread "Main Thread", at adress 0x0.
In the details it shows: Thread 0 crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit): eax: 0x00000000 ebx: 0x51d33a9b ecx: 0xffffffff edx: 0x00000007 edi: 0x00000000 esi: 0xbfffe540 ebp: 0xbfffe4c8 esp: 0xbfffe4a0 ss: 0x0000001f efl: 0x00010246 eip: 0x51ecd882 cs: 0x00000017 ds: 0x0000001f es: 0x0000001f fs: 0x00000000 gs: 0x00000037 cr2: 0x00000000
I recently installed new fonts, would that have anything to do with it? Is it my mac OS or is it Avid?
Thanks for any help!

3 things to try, one at a time:
1. Get 5.0.4 from the Download Center, uninstall 5.0.3.x and install 5.0.4. It still requires OSX 10.6.7 but has a number of bug fixes.
2. Try repairing permissions on your drive. Can't hurt, might help.
3. Uninstall those new fonts and see if they were the culprits.
Must think of something clever to go here...
Hey, thanks for the response.
I uninstalled the fonts and that seemed to do the trick.
