which MBP 17' for avid MC5 and mxo Mini ?

    Hi,

I'm working on MC5 as video journalist on a HP laptop. For monitoring and quick compression, i will buy an MXO2 mini with the 'Max' option. No xpressCard on the My HP, so i'll will buy an Macbook pro 17. Because of my budget, i will buy a used one.

    - which version of unibody MBP 17 is working with MC 5 ? (All i guess ??). because i can read some issues on blogs.
    - Is the mxo2 mini max option is working with sorenson squeeze ?
    - Is the mxo 2 mini is able to capturing thru HDMI directly in Avid ?
    - Is someone use that kind of workflow ? And can tell me what i have to avoid/do to have the best and simple result ?

or maybie, in a dream, it exits a external box using the firewire port...?

    Thanks a lot !

    Karim.

    Any Unibody MBP 17"

Don't think so.  It works with Compressor and Telestream.  It will work with Media Composer 5.5 that's coming out "soon".

Nope.  You can use the Ventra capture application that come with the MXO2 to make DNx Quicktimes and then import those.

Make sure you order the MXO2 mini with the ExpressCard 34 card rather than a PCIe card.

The Mojo SDI does this, but it's SD only and won't be supported whenever Media Composer 6 arrives...probably next year.

    Don't think so.

It was not supported, but I'm fairly sure some people had it working nonetheless.

That is not the official statement. Adrenline and classic Nitris are going to be dropped. Word is that Mojo SDI is not dropped at this point, or at least, Avid dropping Mojo SDI has not been announced officially at this time.

Sorry, my bad.  Job's correct.  The Mojo SDI continues to live on.
