    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

The Readme only mentions bug fixes, I was hoping that this new version would bring support for 1080/24P with the Matrox Mini as the new drivers from Matrox are now able to do that.

Typically patches are designed to fix existing problems.  Point releases and major releases tend to add new features.

That is correct. Do not look for new functionality in patch files.

    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

Thx troychen! I removed soundflower and now Avid not even initialize audio hardware! (Exception: Failed to initialize audio hardware) and when i press ok at the error window i get the (Segmentation fault" in thread "Main Thread" at adress 0x0) again. Why is it so hard to install a patch on a 2 years supported Mac Pro every patch or main version was no problem to install. On 5.0.3.5 i get no errors! but now i'm on 10.6.5 argh.

    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

5.0.3.7 has made my setup really unstable. I did the full uninstall of 5.0.3.5 to go to 10.6.5 and 5.0.3.7 since I want 10.6.5 for my other software. Anyways I installed it and that sucker froze on initializing AVX2 and//or Initializing Audio. So I went back to 5.0.3.5 and had the same issue. I then manually uninstalled everything BUT the software activation since I didn't deactivate (Yeah I should have but I wasn't thinking and it's never been an issue). Reinstalled 5.0.3.5 and same issues. I then removed all AVX2 plugins and it started working again. So I reinstalled Boris 6 and for the moment even though I am getting the beach ball of death while Avid boots up it is running again.

For the record I have an MX02 Mini with Max running the latest 2.1.1 software and Pro Tools 9 on this system. But it's been running stably with both for a while now. This is really disappointing.

    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

I'm getting random 'Exception: AMPI subsystem error, Errormessage: DSM future error from client eDSMError_Exception: Assertion in "DSM_Transport.cpp", line 119 (err=60). . . .' (much more) at the point that MC tries to initialise Audio Plugins. I have to 'OK' at which point MC quits. I'm on 10.6.5. It's OK if I restart the MacBook Pro before launching. Seen this on two macBook Pros. Also had the error with MC 5.0.3.5. Very frustrating. Also having capture problems but I'll post that as a new thread.

    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

Further to my previous post, a pattern has emerged in that I only seem to get the error described if I've put my MacBook Pro to sleep after quitting Media Composer. If I then wake the Mac, Media Composer won't launch. If I quit and relaunch Media Composer without sleeping the Mac, MC launches OK. Anyone confirm?

    Re: MC 5.0.3.7 released

    Hi Roger,

I have had a similar problem with many apps on my new MacBook Pro.  I don't think this is a MC issue as much as a memory thing with Mac.

    Just my opinion.

'Sleep' in OS 10.6.5 seems to mess with a variety of applications...I notice in particular multiple tabs in browsers don't work after 'Sleeping'. Close apps before sleep cures this.

Unfortunately, that is the exact oppoiste of what I am seeing. If I sleep the Mac with Media Composer (and other apps) running, it comes back OK when I wake the Mac. If I quit Media Composer then sleep, I can't relaunch Media Composer because of the error I described. I have to restart the Mac, then launch Media Composer. Thanks for the input though!
