mc ethernet client crash on old project

We have a mc adrenaline hd (3.0.5 hp xw8200 3g ram) connected to a lanshare ex (4.2.4)  via fiber and a bunch of mc soft (3.0.5) machines on dell 670 (3.25g ram) connection manager

If we create a new project-we have no problems, hd or sd.

If we redigitize an old project (we digitize on the adrenaline) the adrenaline works fine, but the ethernet machines eventually crash- usually when playing a sequence-mc "stops responding" and eventually we get a core.sys error, the only way to get out of it is to restart the computer.

I've trashed all the settings, tried creating a new project and copying the sequence to it, same results. I haven't seen anything on here or in the kb. Any ideas?

With anything like this involving a bunch of systems and a drive setup, I would call support.  No way would I try things and risk loosing anything.  I would call support on this one.
