    Unity LANshare and DVCPRO HD

Is anyone using the Unity LANshare(gigabit) and DVCpro HD(720 24p)? If so, what kind of stream counts are you getting? and with how many users?

Or rather, do you guys think i will be able to get 2-3 users with 2 DVCpro HD stream counts over gigabit Unity LANshare?

Over ethernet? And you mention the project type, but not the actual resolution.

You might get ONE stream of DNxHD 145 off of it via ethernet. You won't be able to share the media however. You'll need to add fibre to get that sort of performance. Luckily the cards for this are dual channel, and you can get 4 clients connected via 4 gig fibre.

Have a chat with your sales-types about this. Fibre clients require liciencing.

Re: Unity LANshare and DVCPRO HD

    Thanks for responding...
I am working in native DvcPro HD resolution in MCsoft. The data rate for DvcPro HD 720 24p is 40 Megabits. This is 10 megabits less than DV50. According to the features of the Lanshare Ethernet it can do "Up to 10 single stream clients at DV50". So i am wondering if i only have 2 seats of DvcPro can it i get dual streams for those 2 seats?
Is anybody able to get dual steams of DV50 with 1-2 seats off the LanShare Ethernet? or is Ethernet limited to one stream no matter how many seats?

yes, the system has no problems with 10 DV50 clients. So based on the bandwidth requirements for your resolution, if you have 2 seats, you should get plenty of stream count... prolly about 4-5 with no problems.
