    Isis 5000 System drive.

    Can anyone tell me where I might get a replacement Isis 5000 system drive from?  Are they protected?  Can I get one off the shelf?

    I believe it's an off the shelf drive and isn't branded like the media drives.

    I'm told by an Avid ACSR that it does have code on it so that only Avid purchased ones will owrk.  Anyone else confirm this?

    For the record, it is a Seagate ST9160511NS 160GB 7200 RPM HDD.

    I'm 100 % sure. I have done it multiple times with 5000 and 5500 chassis.

    Just as  follow-up.  I replaced the failed system HDD and it rebuilt after a reboot and re-assigned as a spare and now all is well.  Thanks all.
