    Workstation security

We have lots of Avid PC's with generic logins, like Avid25 but we want to have individual logins for users but for the to have the same profile, so the same desktop, nothing personal just for them.

So if one person sets of a render the PC could lock after 10 mins but anyone could unlock and finish the job...In fact it woud be best if locked but the desktop still visible

how are othes doing this or handling workstation security.. Unique logins and profiles wpuld be very difficult for us to work with, but we'd like to know who was logged in etc

Have you considered LDAP? It is a bit involve to set up initially but it can solve your problem. Easier to manage than local users in large facilities (even smaller facilities depending on needs and configuration).
