No drive available in transcode window

    Hi,

I would like to transcode AMA files, but I can't, because there is no drive shown in the transcode/consolidate - window.

I would like to choose my HD.

    Thinks I've checked:

    - In media creation settings I can choose the HD ("Apply to all" and nothing filtered out), editing on the HD is possible

    - HD permissions are set to everyone

    - "alldrives" in console

    - restart

....I have no sucess and no more ideas :-/

The issue is only in the consolidate/transcode window.

I'm working with 2018 media composer on an iMac2107.

    Can someone help me please???

Re: No drive available in transcode window

Hi Schneemann and welcome to the forums. Using the internal drive for Avid media files in recent Macs is not allowed by OSX, either You use an external drive or split the internal one in two partitions, one for the OS, another one for the media files.

You can try creating your own Avid MediaFiles folder on the root level of your HD. Make sure it's named exactly as shown.

While not recommended, that might work.

Re: No drive available in transcode window

    Thank you guys!

Amazing thing: after 3 days editing with the Ama linked material the issue was gone - don't know why, I've changed nothing.

Now the HD is also available in the transcode window and everything works fine :-)
