Can You Upgrade Transcode Quality During Ongoing Edit?

    Hi,

I'm mid-4K edit and suddenly realised a selection of shots from a given camera were trancoded as DNXHR LB, wheras all the other footage is DNXHR HQ.

Is there a way to simply upgrade those clips to HQ, thereby automatically replacing the existing lo-res shots in the edit with the correct resolution?

I'd hate to have to go through the edit individually matching and replacing shots...

    Thanks,

    Jon

The only way is to re-transcode from the original source files.

The "relink" dialog is pretty powerful, and will allow you to relink your sequence to higher-resolution transcodes.

You can transcode the raw shots to HQ.  Then, select the HQ clips in your bin, right-click your sequence, RELINK.. and enable the "Selected items in ALL open bins" option.  This will get your sequence relinked to the clips you've selected - the HQ ones.
