    Installer Issues

Encountering a problem i've not come across before on installation. Trying to install 7.0.6.2 on a Mac Pro, OS 10.8.5.

The installer gets to the end then says there has been an error and toc ontact the software manufacturer for assistance.

I've checked the permissions on the Mac, and my user is the admin and 'system' and 'admin' are set to read and write in all the major system folders.

The uninstaller for the install doesn't seem to work either, not showing anything to uninstall when there is still all the installed files on the HD. I tried downloading the uninstaller separately as there is apparently an issue with Mac 10.8.5, but this didn't uninstall either.

I have also tried an earlier version of MC (6.5.4) but this didn't work either.

The Mac seems fine and isn't exhibiting any other weird behaviour.

Any help, as ever, appreciated !

I would then use the procedure for the Mac Manual Uninstall, which is found in the START HERE thread at the top of the forums.

    Re: Installer Issues

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for that, didn't make any difference unfortunately, the installation failed at the end.

The application appears to be fully installed, when i start up MC i get an Apple Error message :

"Avid Media Composer cannot be opened due to a problem, check with the developer to make sure Media Composer works with this version of OS X......."

    I'm on 10.8.5. and installing 7.0.6.2, Mac is a 2 x 2.66GHZ Quad Core Early 2009.
