    dynamic cast error

I consistently see the following entry in my console report while Avid is running

    It says:

    ISAVID: dynamic_cast error 1

    or

    ISAVID:dynamic_cast error 2

One of these will appear every couple of minutes.

Is this symptomatic of some problem with my system that may be causing ocassional crashes or should i ignore it?

    James

There are a bunch of threads on google relating to this concole entry....  from what I can tell it has to do with the OS.

What exact OS are you on James?

    James...

Check App Nap and see if that is on and it coud be causing this.

OSX Mavericks and higher introduced a power saving feature called App Nap that basically slows down an app that appears to be doing nothing or is minimized in the background.  This causes that error.

    If I recall....

    • Go to your Applications folder
    • Expand the Avid application folder
    • Right-click on "avid app" and select Get Info
    • Add a checkmark beside "Prevent App Nap"
    • Restart the application

    Report back
