Error in Codec preset, status CMError_CDF_Not_Found?

    SitRep:

I have some .mov files I am recording on my LiveProduction Switcher  (Camera Inputs, Program etc)

The format and codec is a function of my switcher, so not much room for control there.

In my workflow I need to be able to take this .mov and injest them into MC for Edit.

problem is, when i link to ama file, i get the follow message in the preview window:

DecompStream::GetLongGOPFrame error in codec preset, status CMError_CDF_Not_Found

when i import them, i get no error, and they import, but only play audio.  video is black.

Strange thing is, they play fine off the computer through QT player.

For Curiousity, I tried importing them into After Effects-  no go.  i get a "cannot be imported" 'Moov" is damaged or unsupported.

Tried also in Squeeze.  it imports them, but only plays audio.

In my idea workflow, i need to be able to injest them as ama files (they can be VERY long) and then i would make my edit and transcode from there.

    help please.

    what codec are you using?

You can Edit content acquired in a QuickTime-wrapped codec, such as .mov files inot MC.

    what are your specs?

Do a Get Info (Command-I) when it's playing in QuickTime to determine the codec.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Contact the switcher vendor (I'm guessing it's NewTek) to get a conversion method that's compatible with a Mac.
