How to AMA Link to a TIF Image Sequence

Wow, this might seem like a pretty basic question, but, I suddenly realized that I don't know how to AMA link to an image file sequence, like TIF or DPX. I know I can import(and transcode) an image file sequence, but, how do I do that with an AMA link? I've been able to creat a DMF folder for linking to TIF's, but, that brings in each TIF image individually without creating a contiguous video sequence.

Ideally, I'd like to AMA link to an image sequence folder and bring that into the timeline or consolidate the sequence then bring into the timeline. Is that even possible?

Are there any tutorials out there that describe the process of AMA linking to an image file sequence?

I don´t think that to ama this is supported , you will get what you just have seen , lots of still images and not a Sequense.

I think that same thing happens in AE if you don´t checkmark the correct button but AE is a step ahead here as this is possible with the correct buttons checkmarked.

Thanx, Tomas. In fact, I was getting the sense that I was missing a button select somewhere in my workflow. Guess it really isn't there.

This is easy enough to do though using QTPro. You can open an image sequence in QTPro, specify frame rate, then save as a reference movie. You should then be able to AMA link to this reference movie.

OMG, workflows have become so technical, I've overlooked the simplest approach. Thanks for this Mark. It really is a good approach that I entirely had forgotten.

edit: except that it won't accept dpx, cineon or exr

IMO for tifs that is import sequential files.  Draw back if you want to FramFlex resize

Re: How to AMA Link to a TIF Image Sequence

All this being said(as above), the important thing I want to do is maintain a >10 bit workflow for as long as possible, when coming from RAW or a 16 bit pipeline. Using proRes 444 XQ is the most likely process path. This is all so new, for me, anyway, I'm ignorant about process and capability, especially with MC8.2.
