    MC ver 8 ama editing

I have a sequence in a project that plays fine using my system that is running

on MC 5.5.5  Mac OS 10.7.5  quad core Ram 8GB...

Most of the sequence is AMA linked  files   ( no green dot )

When I try to run it my other   8 core MAC OS 10.8.5   with 8gb ram

running either MC 6.5 or MC 7 or MC 8

the AMA files have a green dot and won't play to  speed

In fact  this set up will not play AMA linked files

Why is it a MC  3 versions older has better AMA functions

Is the green dot because of the project framerate mismatch or FrameFlex?  If you enter effects mode on one of the clips, you should see if FrameFlex is listed.

Depends on the type of footage and how large it is.  Older systems automatically snapped larger files to 1920x1080, with FrameFlex you can use any part of the frame to fill that raster, so there's more computation as it plays.

    What kind of footage?
