    When Capturing No audio

I have a sony trv350 which plays 8 mm. When I bring the video in I have video no sound when capturing. I making sure the video and audio tracks are selected in the capture tool. I have set the deck up and capture settings in settings. When I power on my camcorder it been sand says install hardware so it must recognize the camcorder. Is their anyway else to bring footage in. I am confused on this one.

    Re: When Capturing No audio

Yesterday, I answered to your question, however, for some unknown reeason it is not presented!?

    here again my comments/answers:

First check sttings inside MC, especuially "Audio Project" and Sound Card Settings". In Audio Project meke sure you select the same sample rate as your import clips. In Sound Card Settings mark the check-box "Use Windoes Mixer".

Check other video clips you may have imported or AMA-linked on the timeline and see whether they play audio.

Now, within the capture tool window make sure you have selected IEEE 1394 for input for both, video and audio. An additional cuase of trouble is the video signal setting. By default, it is set to DVCPro HD. In the selection window you need to select HDV instead.

I hope this will solve your problems.

    Good luck,

    Joachim

    Re: When Capturing No audio

You've asked about the offline clip in another thread. Let's keep answers to that question over there where Pat is already trying to help. Also - discussing one issue per thread makes the final resolution more useful to others who make experience the same issue in the future.

Cheers and and hope your audio capture issue is resolved soon.

sometimes with firewire audio has to be brought in separately, so select video only first, bring in, then select audio only in capture tool and bring in. combine in sequence timeline.
