XAVC 2K on Avid MC 6.5

    Hi all,

I haven't been able to find an answer to this on the forums.

I just got a project shot with the Sony f5 on XAVC 2K. I am trying to link it to AMA Volume on AVID 6.5 (and also on another machien running 6.0.1) and the AMA Does not work. I have installed the latest (2.33) XAVC plugin, have tried linking from multiple roots (the XDROOT folder was copied in it's entirety from the SxS to an HDD). Either nothing happens (Choose Directory window goes away and bin stays empty), or I get an error saying

" "Segmentation fault" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0"

I am beggining to worry that it has something to do with the fact that we shot in 2K, but sources say it should work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

MC 6.5 is limited to 1080 frame size for AMA. With the latest version of  Sony plugin you are supposedly able to AMA link up to 4K in MC 6.5. However, the media must be Sony RAW and not one of the compressed formats like XAVC and SR. It would line skip to create 1080 frame size from the larger frames.

Other options are upgrade to version MC 7.0 or transcode prior to importin/AMA link in to Avid.
