    2997 footage in 2398 sequence

    Hey Guys

Searched the forums and google and couldn't really find a solution that was viable, was wondering if anyone has any insight on this.

We have a show we're delivering in 2398, we have footage shot 2997, So of course when its brought into a 2398 sequence there is a motion effect applied onto it but it slows down the footage and makes it look wonky. There are many cuts and the method we've been doing so far is promoting the motion effect on the 2997 clips change to interp field, set source to film with 2:3 pulldown and detect cadence. Is there an easier way to do this for all our remaining episodes?

    thanks !

Are you running MC 4, like your profile says?  Just want to be sure.

Adding 29.97 to a 23.98 timeline shouldn't change the speed at all.  It should show up with a green dot, and play at normal speed and have the proper pulldown removed.  When i hit PROMOTE, I note that the speed of the clip is 125%...because it is that much faster of a frame rate than 23.98.  If I switched that to 100%...the clip would go into some odd slow motion.  But, it should play back at normal speed when you add it to the timeline for the first time.
